This group exhibition of over 45 emerging artists from across the country had a jam-packed reception as friends and art-lovers tried to get a glimpse of some future art stars’ work.
The Bloordale Area around Bloor West and Lansdowne is fast becoming a haven for new art galleries, several of which have just opened. Rumour has it other galleries are considering this area now that people are discovering it to provide large accessible spaces.
This year’s Art for Tibet drew attention to the persecution of Tibetan artists and writers by honouring Tibetan artists in Tibet and in exile for their contribution to Tibetan contemporary culture.
From sunset on Saturday, October 1, to sunrise on Sunday, October 2, 2011, Toronto celebrated its 6th annual all-night contemporary art festival, Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, displaying over 130 works created by local, national and international artists.
The Canadian Art Foundation‘s Auction Preview at the opulent The Avenue suite 1500 at 155 St. Clair was the perfect setting to see the generously donated works by the best of Canadian artists.
