For Toronto Art Venues

Artoronto.ca is an online art magazine that provides an open venue for critical dialogue on the exhibition of contemporary art in Toronto since May, 2011. It contains art reviews and cover issues that are important to the art community of Toronto, showing the diversity in the city’s visual arts scene.

Throughout the last nine years Artoronto.ca became a major source for articles about contemporary art, artists, visual art exhibitions and the vibrant life of the galleries in Toronto. We have posted about 2.000 articles by June 10, 2020. The number of readers is growing and we have an average of 850 thousand hits a month. Our banners are effectively advertise some of the best galleries in the city.

If you are interested in a coverage please forward media releases and send your information via email to kemeseh@gmail.com. Please send some low definition digital images of the show as well so we can have more information about your exhibition as we are looking for exhibitions to have writers review. Please also contact as if you would like to have a banner on our site.

Toronto is the fourth largest arts centre in North America. There is a strong interest in the Toronto arts scene but not enough opportunity for critical discourse or shared dialogue. This venture not only provides art reviews, interviews and events coverage but allows gallery owners, artists and art writers an opportunity to engage the public.

Artoronto.ca aims to help fill a void in the coverage of the  contemporary arts in Toronto.

We look forward to working with you in the future and hope that together we can create a stronger and vibrant arts community.

CALL FOR CONTENT

Submissions

Artoronto.ca is an online art magazine covering the rich visual art scene of Toronto. We cover exhibitions, shows, auctions, award winning ceremonies, art fairs and other art events with articles and photographs. Throughout the last four years we became an important part of the city’s art community. We have more than 850 thousand hits a month and the number of our readers is still growing.

The articles in our Features section are longer reviews, analyzing articles and interviews with artists and art organizers illustrated by 6-8 images. Briefs are short impressions of an artist or show, 150-200 words in lengths and with one image. Events are photographic documentations with a short writing of art fairs and openings. All writings will be edited before publishing.

We also looking for photographers to cover award winning ceremonies and opening receptions.

Any submitted images must have the artists approval regarding copyright for publishing online. Artoronto.ca cannot pay for submissions at this point in time but we hope to as we grow and attract some revenue through future advertising.

Please send submissions with contact information to kemeseh@gmail.com. If you have proposals for articles you may also send them to the above email address.

We look forward to your correspondence and interest in Artoronto.ca
