The reception for Building Art was busy with viewers trying to squeeze into the rather small Process Gallery. The most of the ten selected artists were in attendance along with friends and inquisitive viewers.
The exhibition had much interest and will be followed by a sequel exhibition Building Art II from May 30 – June 10, 2012. Reception will be on Thursday, May 31 at 7 p.m.
BUILDING ART is a group exhibition which showcases art inspired by Toronto architecture. The exhibition curated by Phil Anderson. The Gallery itself is housed in a heritage art deco building that once served as a City of Toronto Police Station, Division 6 from 1931-63. The Gallery has home to the holding cells of the old police station.

BUILDING ART gives viewers an opportunity to explore the city buildings and architectural features that were used in artists works. Participating arts include Pat Rice, John Ferri, Pat Stanley, Paul Kilbertus, Elizabeth McLachlan, Quincy Mccolgan, Karen Harris, Dana Marinache, Jennifer Chin, Samuel Bietenholz and others.
