Heffel Spring Auction 2013

Jean-Paul Riopelle, Composition, oil on canvas, 1955, on verso titled on the Marlborough-Godard label,  62.9 x 205.1 cm

We are delighted to announce that Heffel Fine Art Auction House has unveiled a remarkable lineup of Canadian works for Spring 2013. It is expected to achieve between seven and ten million dollars, according to conservative estimates.

Each piece in this year’s outstanding collection tells its own distinct story and many will be on display in Canada for the first time in generations. Included in the collection are a group of paintings that Jean-Paul Riopelle gifted to his mistress which surfaced only recently, as well as works by Emily Carr that have recently returned to Canadian soil.

Also highly anticipated is a spectacular consignment by The PSBGM Cultural Heritage Foundation, including pieces by A.Y. Jackson, Anne Savage, Robert Pilot and Maurice Cullen, as well as others.

The live auction will take place in Vancouver on May 15, 2013.

Leading up to the event, previews will take place in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
